However, the City recognizes under the current unique circumstances some residents and businesses may require additional time.Richmond Hill has moved the May 1 property tax installment due date to June 1.Richmond Hill has waived penalties and interest on late property tax payments through January 1, 2021 to support individuals and businesses struggling financially due to COVID 19.The City’s NSF (non sufficient funds) fee of $45 is waived for the remainder of 2020.Richmond Hill now accepts credit card payments for property taxes. The interim tax bills are mailed in January of each year with instalments due in March and May. The interim bill is based on 50% of the previous year’s annualized taxes and is shown as a reduction on the final bill.Interim 2020 tax bills were mailed in January. The City is not mailing replacement bills with revised due dates. Richmond Hill is using multiple means of communication to share the extended deadline and other property tax relief measures with property owners, including print and radio advertising, social media and website postings.Residential final tax billsYour final tax bill is sent to you in June with instalments due in August and October.Non residential final tax billsThe final non residential tax bills are mailed in August with instalments due in October and November.
